How to Properly Install a Wall Mounted Bakers Rack

Once you have decided on a wall mounted bakers rack the next thing you will need to do is properly install it. This is very important because a bakers rack that is not properly installed is just an accident waiting to happen. There are several key steps to making sure that you are getting your bakers rack properly installed.

Deciding on The Best Place to Install it

One of the first things you need to do is determine exactly where you want your bakers rack to be mounted. It may take several tries to actually find a place where it can be properly installed. This is because you need to make sure that the area you have chosen will properly accommodate the bakers rack. Which means you need to make sure that you can hit at least two studs when you are going to install a wall mounted bakers rack. They tend to be rather heavy and you need to have a minimum of two very secure anchors to the wall. Finding a stud can prove to be a bit challenging for the average person without the proper tools and equipment

Getting the Proper Tools to Install Your Wall Mounted Bakers Rack

Once you have located a place that can accommodate the bakers rack the next thing to do is get your tools together. To make your installation much easier a stud finder is a great tool to have, it makes locating a stud quick and easy. If you do not own a study finder you can always do what many pros do and "listen and feel" for a stud. This is simply done by knocking on the wall, when you come to a place where there is a stud the sound and feel of the wall will become more solid. Remember this is a trick of the trade and may take awhile to figure out.

The other tools you should have on hand are a level, to make sure that you are hanging it properly and it won't be out of whack. This will also give you a chance to draw a level line so you can actually see where you need your screws to enter to keep the rack level. A screw gun is an absolute necessity because you need to screw into the stud which will give you even more stability then using nails to anchor it to the wall. A tape measure is also handy as this will let you measure up to exactly where you should drill your pilot hole for your installation screw. With that being said you will also need a drill and drill bit to drill the pilot hole and then you also need screws that will go into the stud at least a half an inch.

If you doubt your ability to properly secure the bakers rack to the wall you might want to call in professional to assist you. For safety reasons it is very important that your wall mounted bakers rack is properly installed.
